A discourse analysis of influential people using public media to talk about climate change found conservative and liberal speakers don’t deny the existence of man-made climate change but rather deny its urgency. The article points to a dominant climate politics of delay across the political spectrum that increasingly wants technology to preserve a fossil fuel-powered way of life that constrains the more comprehensive approach needed to meaningfully address the climate crisis.
