2023 Community Sentinel Award Nominee

In 2023, Chairperson James Brooks was honored for his advocacy of requiring climate and health warning labels on gas pumps, which became law in the City of Cambridge, MA in 2020. As a result, he was a nominee for the Community Sentinel Award for Environmental Stewardship, an annual award presented by FracTracker Alliance and Halt the Harm Network. The award honors the leadership of remarkable individuals working to protect communities from the harms of the fossil fuel industry. The Community Sentinel Award is a national prize in which 40 individuals were selected for their work in championing environmental rights and social justice, which the fossil fuel industry threatens.

Thanks go to Per Osborne of the Swedish Green Motorist group, Cambridge, MA Councilmember Patricia Nolan, Environmental Lawyer Camille Stough, and Harriet Festing Executive Director of the Anthropocene Alliance, for nominating me.
